In recent years there has been a stirring to reach and empower the youth generation and the urban poor. We know we will be more effective working together on this. We have also seen God’s hand at work in introducing us to The Message Trust who have an expertise in these things. Headquartered in the UK, The Message is a global movement that exists to share the good news of Jesus with young people and urban communities through word and action.

Taking a holistic approach to kingdom focussed community transformation, The Message Trust is unashamedly an evangelistic disciple making movement that works in true partnership with local churches to usher in the kingdom.

Founded in 1992 by Andy Hawthorne OBE, The Message Trust were initially focussed on reaching young people in one city in England – Manchester.

To do this, a mission band the World Wide Message Tribe were launched that went into local schools. Along the way, they were signed with Warner Brothers and, as a result, the band performed at festivals throughout the USA and Europe, selling over 250,000 albums and winning two Dove Awards. Sharing the gospel with young people and was central to everything the World Wide Message Tribe and The Message Trust did.

Since those days, The Message Trust’s vision has changed. They have launched many more evangelistic bands and expanded their work to share the hope of Jesus with young people and urban communities. From schools to the streets, from prisons to affordable food groceries, teams are grabbing every opportunity to share the gospel. As well as having mission hubs across the UK, there are now teams in Brazil and Canada as well as across Europe and Africa.

The Message is now truly a World Wide Message Tribe!

Fort Wayne will be home of the first hub in the USA.
